Join us for an inspiring evening with Dr. Suzanne Mawson from Strathclyde Business School as we explore how entrepreneurial mindsets can be nurtured from early childhood.
Entrepreneurship education is increasingly recognised as more than simply learning how to start a business. It encompasses essential life skills such as resilience, creativity, empathy, collaboration and optimism, capabilities that are becoming ever more important in shaping future-ready individuals and societies.
While most entrepreneurship education today takes place in secondary schools and universities, emerging research suggests that the most impactful stage for mindset development occurs much earlier, between the ages of 5 and 7.
Building on this evidence, the RECCO Crew was developed as an innovative educational initiative designed specifically for young children. Co-created with primary school students, the RECCO Crew characters bring abstract entrepreneurial concepts to life through engaging comic-style storytelling and visual learning tools.
Through this session, Dr. Mawson will share:
- Why entrepreneurial mindset development should begin in early childhood
- The research behind the RECCO Crew initiative
- How resilience, creativity, empathy, collaboration and optimism can be taught to young learners
- The role of storytelling and visual learning in developing non-cognitive skills
- Practical recommendations for fostering entrepreneurship in primary school settings
This session will be valuable for:
- Parents
- Educators
- School leaders
- Learning & development professionals
- Anyone interested in the future of education and human development
